Modalities We Use

Choosing the right massage depends on what you hope to achieve from it.

Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage that involves the therapist utilizing an overhead bar and their own body weight to monitor pressure applied when gliding over muscles. This stretching technique can help with those suffering pain as a result of soft-tissue damage, chronic shortened muscles or other chronic muscular disorders.

Therapists: Sarah, Tyffani

Cupping Massage with Myofascial Release

This traditional technique involves applying “negative” pressure on the skin with cups. We frequently combine cupping techniques with Myofascial release for optimal results. Cupping is proven to help with pain from tissue scarring, knots or swelling.

Therapists: Jess, Sarah

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue massages work on the sub-layer of musculature in the body and requires a therapist with an extensive understanding of anatomy and physiology. This modality is beneficial for those suffering from inflammation-related pain such as arthritis and tendinitis, as well as those undergoing injury rehabilitation.

Keep in mind that when we provide deep tissue therapies, we use the most updated pain science information. This often means that we apply enough pressure to get a response from the tissues, and avoid using too much pressure which often results in the muscles guarding against the pressure causing damage, injury, or bruising.

Jess = Heavy Pressure Deep Tissue

Lou, Faiva, Hannah = Medium Pressure Deep Tissue

Sarah, Donna = Gentle Pressure Deep Tissue

Energy Work

We use a combination of modalities intended to balance energy flow in the body. Therapists focus on the chakras and joints to help clients find peace and grounding, ultimately resulting in increased mobility, decreased pain and improved range of motion.

Therapists: Sarah, Lou, Tyffani

Gua Sha/ IASTM

This technique involves specialized tools which glide along the surface of skin, gripping fascia in such a way our hands aren’t able to. This method promotes blood circulation while reducing excess heat, and improving circulation of blood and lymph to your tissues. Gua Sha means “to scrape petechia (sand)” and IASTM stands for “Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization.”

Therapists: Dr. Joshua Johnson, Dr. Brian Aranda, Tyffani

Himalayan Hot Stone

A modality traditionally only offered in high end spas, we are the first to offer it in our area. Similar to the technique used in Lava Hot Stone massage, this modality involves a therapist using Himalayan salt stones to massage muscles. The natural minerals in the stones have positive effects on your body while the negative ions produced by the stones have positive effects on your body and mind.

Therapists: All of us!

Lava Hot Stone

In this ancient technique, the therapist uses hot stones to apply kneading pressure to your muscles. Unlike in the movies and pictures where the stones are merely placed along the spine, we use the stones in our hands all through the massage session. This results in relaxed muscles, improved circulation and relief of chronic pain.

Therapists: All of us!

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Often called Lymphatic Massage, this modality is designed to assist the draining of metabolic wastes through the lymphatic system, a complex network of vessels, tissues and organs. Proper lymphatic draining can result in better moods, clearer skin, improved circulation, and increased energy.

When applied pre-operatively, you can improve post-op recovery.

Post-operative application of MLD is proven to improve results of mommy makeovers, and other cosmetic surgeries; it is also proven to speed recovery time and improve mobility after orthopedic surgeries.

Therapists: Sarah (preventive/ post-op), Tyffani (only post orthopedic operation)

Myofascial Release (MFR)

This modality aims to resolve the tension in your fascial system, which is made up of fibrous connective tissue containing closely packed bundles of collagen fibers, and ground substance. Myofascial Release is beneficial for those with chronic pain conditions, neurological dysfunction, headaches, stress, anxiety, and more.

Therapists: Jess, Lou, Faiva, Hannah, Sarah, Tyffani

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy uses soft-tissue manipulation to balance the central nervous system and the musculoskeletal system. The overall goal of this modality is to help relieve pain and dysfunction by identifying an underlying cause.

Therapists: Jess, Sarah, Tyffani, Hannah, Faiva

Trauma Care (A mind-body approach)

This technique utilizes therapeutic movement and breathwork with psychotherapeutic elements in an effort to to bring your body and mind together. We collaborate care with Therapist to complete the cycle of trauma care for those affected by trauma and abuse.

Therapists: Sarah, Jess, Tyffani **Client MUST be actively seeing a Clinical Therapist**

Trigger Point Therapy (TPT)

The goal of this treatment is to significantly reduce pain, achieved through a systematic approach including trigger point compression, myofascial release, stretching and corrective exercises.

Therapists: Jess, Lou, Donna, Sarah, Tyffani
