Your Treatment
Our goal is for you to feel comfortable and safe while you are in our care, and even more so on your first visit. Each person has a unique level of comfort when it comes to massage and you can trust that we will work with you on your level. We are happy to accommodate your requests.
When you come for your first visit, arrive 5-10 minutes early or fill out the New Client Form beforehand. If treatment is due to an auto accident, fill out the Auto Accident Info Form, and be sure to bring your insurance information.
Band-Aid Care
You come in for care when you have pain/ limitations; we reduce pain and you walk out with fewer limitations. You return next time you have pain. This is our least effective approach, although sometimes necessary. We can only make slight improvements with sporadic care, and you are likely to stay in the injury loop long term. This approach does not resolve your injury, but it does reduce pain temporarily.
Pros & Cons
Can cost the most over a year, and usually results in living with pain and living with limitations.
Pro-active Care
You come in for care more frequently within the first few weeks of an injury, and we reduce frequency as your injury heals and you gradually increase your daily activities. This is a 2 steps forward, 1 step back approach. You’ll see and feel improvement at each visit!
Pros & Cons
Can cost more initially, and you’ll reap rewards throughout the month with improved quality of life!
Optimal Care
You begin with Pro-active Care until we have your injury minimized. Then, we continue care as needed for the early signs/ stages of your recurring injuries. Whether you have sports injuries, Automobile collision injuries such as whiplash, or Repetitive Use injuries such as those earned sitting at a desk for work, this approach keeps you slightly ahead of pain and dysfunction.
Pros & Cons
Can be the most costly initially, and you’ll reap rewards throughout the year with improved quality of life.
What To Expect During Consultation
You fill out some preliminary questions to determine your overall well-being and health goals. Information that will affect your massage therapy results include:
Your medical & surgical history
Medications you are taking
Your physical condition
Stress level you are at
Water consumption & physical activity
Any areas of physical pain
This information is vital for your massage therapist to provide a session that can help you achieve your goals.
What To Expect During Your Treatment Care
When you arrive in the massage therapy room, our Licensed Provider will review your intake form and consult with you regarding your goals with today’s session as well as continued care, if any.
Your massage therapist will exit the room while you undress to your comfort level.
Lie down on the massage table and cover yourself with the provided sheet and blanket. These are provided to keep you and our therapists safe and comfortable, and are both required due to Utah State Law. Three areas are never to be touched or exposed while on the table: Breast, Genitals, In between Gluteals.
Our tables are luxurious and comfortable, all are equipped with a warming feature, high quality sheets, a comfortable pillow for your ankles/ knees, and a custom fully adjustable face cradle, allowing you to lie facedown without having to turn your neck or head.
Relaxing music plays in every room, however if you find it distracting, just let your massage therapist know, and we can change the genre or turn it off. The same applies for conversation during your session.
Comfort and pressure level will be monitored throughout your session by your massage therapist. Please tell your therapist at any time if you feel uncomfortable for any reason.
Depending on what your personal needs are, your massage therapist can work with your full body: back, neck, shoulders, gluteals, legs, feet, arms, hands, head, and abdomen; or just specific areas that need attention.
All you need to do is relax and breathe normally during your massage therapy session.
Your Therapeutic Massage session will be 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes; which is determined at the time of scheduling.
Afterwards, you will be given privacy and some time to carefully move about and get dressed.
