What You Can Do For Self-Care After Massage Therapy
Some things you can do to help get the most from your massage therapy session afterwards are:
01.
Drink Water: for every 1lb you weigh, drink ½ ounce of water in every 24 hour period. Therapeutic massage stimulates movement of your lymphatic system. Drinking water helps your lymphatic system move properly, and supports your cardiovascular system in its job of bringing nutrients and oxygen to your organs, muscles and tissues.
02.
Have a Snack. Massage therapy speeds up your body functions, circulatory systems and digestive system. Giving yourself an energy boost with a light healthy snack is recommended.
03.
Light to moderate movement – then Rest well. Try to make time after your session to move, and avoid sitting for prolonged periods. This helps continue the calm your body and mind are feeling. Your next sleep is a time to repair, retune and recover.
